Tony the Tiger

Tony began his career with Kellogg's* in 1952, sharing package panels with Katy the Kangaroo on a new product, Kellogg's* Sugar Frosted Flakes of Corn cereal. Tony proved to be more popular than Katy, so she was retired after the first year.

Tony was created especially for children, but his lifelike characteristics make him popular with all ages. Tony's admirers have called him friendly, lovable, talented, boastful and almost human. Perhaps one of his most endearing characteristics is his encouragement of children to strive toward achieving their fullest potential.

Tony does an outstanding job representing Kellogg Company. Judging by the mail addressed to him and the response to Tony the Tiger premiums; people of all ages continue to believe that Tony the Tiger is Gr-r-reat!

Toucan Sam*

Kellogg's* launched Froot Loops* cereal in 1963 with the Toucan Sam character. He wore a towering Carmen Miranda-style hat of fruits.

Toucan Sam has a magical power possessed by no other creature in his jungle: with his nose, he can sniff out the delicious natural orange, lemon, and cherry flavours in Kellogg's* Froot Loops cereal. He does this time and time again while singing his famous lyric "follow my nose, it always knows…"

Toucan Sam has remained virtually unchanged, as has the campaign used worldwide, since its inception.

Cornelius* The Rooster

Roosters have been greeting the new day for ages, and Kellogg's* Corn Flakes* cereal has been greeting people at breakfast since the turn of the last century. So, in 1957, Cornelius Rooster was designed by the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency specifically for the front of our Kellogg's* Corn Flakes package.

With his green body, red comb, and yellow beak, Cornelius is the symbol of waking up and getting the morning off to a good start.

Although he doesn't talk, Cornelius shows through his actions and expressions that he is a happy-go-lucky, confident roaster who, with the help of Kellogg's* Corn Flakes, is able to do his job right. Cornelius knows that a bowl of Kellogg's* Corn Flakes is a great way to start the day.

Snap!* Crackle!* Pop!*

In 1928, Kellogg's* Rice Krispies* cereal entered the ready-to-eat cereal market. The company's advertising agency was quick to capitalize on the toasted rice bubbles' most distinctive feature - they make noise in milk. Snap! was the first to appear on pack in 1932. He still appeared solo on the packages as late as 1936. Finally, Snap! Crackle! and Pop! were together on packages of Rice Krispies cereal.

In 1949, Snap! Crackle! And Pop! changed drastically from brownies with huge noses and ears and oversized hats, to more human creatures with boyish haircuts , proportional features, and smaller hats.

After over 70 years in the business, Snap! Crackle! And Pop! are busier and more popular than ever, and they'll continue to work as long as their cereals make noise in milk.
